FAQs
What is a BCBA?
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is a professional that holds a minimum of a Master's Degree with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Their main role is to make behavior modifications for socially maladaptive behaviors while teaching new socially appropriate behaviors; all of this through the analysis and rearrangement of the individual's natural environment. A BCBA must also abide by a number of ethic codes in the delivery of evidence-based strategies when working with their clients.
What are typical areas you help your clients in?
Some areas include, but are not limited to:
1. Reduction of maladaptive behaviors (aggression, noncompliance, wandering off, frequent tantrums)
2.Toilet Skills
3. Self-management (coping skills, organizational skills)
4. Play/Social Skills
5. Communication Skills
6. Morning and bedtime routines

What is the main population you serve?
I provide 1:1 in-person, virtual, group trainings and consultation for families, therapists, and school staff.
In what settings do you provide services?
I go wherever the behavior change needs to take place. The most common setting is at families’ homes when there is a need for behavior change, typically for children. Some clients may also seek assistance in clinical centers, schools, group homes, or various community locations (market, parks, doctor’s office etc.).
What do your services look like?
Through an initial assessment of your immediate skills and needs, I develop a plan and provide you with tools and materials, based on those needs. My style is to ensure you understand:
Why certain strategies are necessary
Model how they are performed
Have you practice implementation
Provide you with feedback
Answer all your questions
Make modifications as necessary
What is your approach with your clients?
I don't believe that a single approach is the "magic solution." With many years of collaboration with large multidisciplinary teams, I have learned the most efficient and holistic manner to tailor help for each individual. While I DO NOT claim expertise in other fields outside of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), my experience working with speech and language pathologists (SLPs), school psychologists, behavior analysts (BCBAs), clinical psychologists, marriage and family therapists (MFTs), occupational therapists (OTs), and special education teachers, has shaped up my mentality to obtain optimal results in every plan I develop for my clients.
